Although we said we'd update when we left Koh Phangan and moved on to the next island (Koh Tao), today is actually our last day in Koh Tao! So here's a bit of a recap of the last week.
On Thursday, we visited Ang Thong national park. This was quite a full on day but very fun. The weather wasn't great and it rained whilst we were kayaking, but we still had a good time. That night was the full moon party! We all got ready, neon body paint, bright t-shirts and all and made our way to Haad Rin. We had a few drinks in the bars before moving on to the beach. We had a little walk around and found a spot to stand in for a while. We all started dancing, having a good time until Sam broke out the 'Carlton dance'. He ended up hurting his back which resulted in us having to go to the pharmacy to buy some strong painkillers! Not how we thought we'd be spending the full moon party!
Friday was a very chilled out day and it rained quite heavily so we couldn't do a lot. In the evening we went back to Haad Rin for dinner and Barry got a tattoo. Now we all have at least one tattoo!!
On Saturday morning, we went to Phangan Wipeout (just like Total Wipeout on TV). This was a lot of fun, but very hard! We've got lots of photos and videos of the various obstacles and launch pad.
Sunday was our last day in Koh Phangan. We got a boat over to Ko Tao and checked in to our hotel. We went out for a walk around the town and down to the beach but the weather was a bit overcast so the photos we took didn't look great.
On Monday, we went to a beautiful little island called Ko Nang Yuan. We had to get a taxi boat there which was a bit of an experience - I can't say I'm keen to do that again any time soon! But it was worth it to see Nang Yuan. We bought snorkels beforehand so were able to go in the sea as and when we wanted to see the fish. We also trekked up a bit of a hill to the view point where you can see all three islands joined together by the small amount of sand. This was an amazing view!
We didn't really realise until later on that day, but we all got quite sunburnt at Ko Nang Yuan, so we tried to keep out of the sun as much as possible on Tuesday. We chilled out round the pool for the day then went for dinner later in the evening.
Yesterday we had a walk to the beach and managed to take some better photos as the weather has been a lot nicer. We booked our boat trip to Koh Samui and spent the rest of the day around the pool. At about 6pm, we went back to the beach to watch the sunset whilst having dinner, which was a lovely thing to see.
Now we're just waiting for our taxi to pick us up and take us to the pier so that we can get the boat over to Koh Samui. Frances and Barry aren't coming with us this time, but we're meeting back up with the, in Bangkok before they go home.
