Tuesday 12th march we travelled to phi phi and planned to stay for 3 nights. We pulled up in the ferry and straight away I had a feel for the island! Even the pier had see through waters and sandy beaches, it looked like a beautiful island. When we got off the boat we hasn't booked anywhere so decided to ask one of the little men to book somewhere for us, it turned out to be a really nice bungalow and only £12 a night!
Phi phi is a tiny island and there are no cars or taxis and everyone walks everywhere except the locals who drive mopeds. Walking through the town they have really sweet little lanes and nice shops and restaurants through the whole town. That evening we went for dinner and then out to see what the bars were like, phi phi was by far the liveliest nightlife we'd been to, and everywhere was really busy. We loved the beach parties every night!
The next day we chilled out on the beach which was a 5 minute walk from our bungalows and decided to go on the boat trip to maya bay the next day which is where 'the beach' was filmed. It was lovely waters and they stop at a few bays you can get out and swim, I even went in the sea off the boat! 'The beach' was beautiful but packed full of tourists although the sea was amazing and no fish and all sandy beach! On the way back we stopped at monkey bay and got to feed the monkeys! There was loads of them and they hang above your heads trying to take your food.
We loved phi phi so much that we stayed another night. It also helped that the restaurants were so yummy!
