Today is my second day in North Germany and I find myself confuddled by the wheather changes! yesterday was hot, and very much like back at home (Australia). Today however the wheather has gotten very cold and everybody had to whip out the old (and well-used) jumpers from the back of their wardrobes. Yesterday I thought it would be a fun idea to take a Belly dancing class, only problem was nobody spoke english so I had to look and follow what the class did and look to my german friend Susi for support and instruction. I discovered I inhabited a hidden talent for shaking my hips, bum and belly (non-existant). I felt very much at home in the beautiful glittery outfit, and enjoyed being the centre of attention from all the german girls in the class. After the class finished it was 8pm at night and I realised it was still light, but ofcourse, it was summer and light does not disappear until very late at night, so I found this quite disorientating! After an early night in bed I was preparing for an early morning as Susanna was to take me to her second last daz of school, unfortunately upon awakening I found that susi was not feeling very well and so was to take the day off and spend the day in bed. Finding myself alone, I felt quite lonely. Matthew Niven, my boyfriend played upon my mind and i found myself thinking of him, and missing him, I think this was the first moment I truely felt homesick since I left, and a tear made its way down my cheek, I had just done my make up so this was a tad inconvinient. To shake off the feeling of lonliness i thought it would be a good idea to adventure into the town by myself and just before i was about to leave susi's father offered me a lift into the town, which I graciously accepted! So we hopped into the BMW convertable (WOW) and made our way to town, which as it turns out was quite a distance away (lucky i didnt walk!). Once in town I did clothes shopping ofcourse! Got a few strange looks, as i was the only brunette in the town. Ended up in a nice cosy cafe, sheltering from the cold and warming my hands on a hot cup of coffee and filling my belly with a bowl of fresh strawberrys. All in all, a satisfying few days. and to top it all off, susi has just walked into the kitchen claiming to feel much better, this made my day. Tomorrow being friday, i foresee much fun and as the germans would say ''gute Zeiten mit vielen Getränken!''
