Hi to all
Well we are in a hostel with free internet so seemed like a good time to update this and let you know that New Zealand is still as good as it was last week although it seems to be getting colder and we have had some torrential rain!!
I think the last time I wrote I was still in Queenstown. We then went on a tour of the southern tip of the island, taking a cruise on Milford Sound which was absolutely beautiful if not a bit chilly and spending the night in a 1930s miners camp. They were cabins for 6 people and heated a by coal fires with a generator that cut out at 10pm at which point you were expected to get on with a candle. Me and Em quickly grabbed some of the guys from our group and made the deal that if they kept the fir going we would provide hot chocolate and marshmallows and bought out the Uno cards for one rocking night in the mountains!!
We then went down to Invercargill which is literally the bottom tip of the island and had torrentail rain for 24 hours so checked out the bowling alley. Turns out my sunday night trips in good old Castleford actually helped me not lose completely! Apparently this is a sign of me not havnig a life but I am choosing to feel slightly proud and smug!!
Me and Em then spent the evening watching Harry Potter - pretty good but I want to see the next one now and the evening was slightly ruined by the fact that they do not do candy king here - or any pick nd mix. There was not even a choice of salty or sweet popcorn. The girl looked at Em in horror and said that in a small tow there was really no need for that kind of extravagance!!!
Headed back up the coast for final day in Queenstown then had to leave our group which was pretty awful and me and Em got the ferry over to Wellington in the North Island. Went to the museum and wandered round the waterfront but not the most exciting capital city in the world.
We hired a car this morning and are now in Taupo where we have just spent the night atr some thermal hot pools s this is a really volanic area. Lovely when you're in them as bioling hot steam but walking around outside when it's 5 degrees in a bikini is never the best plan!!
Heading to Rotorua tomorrow, then Auckland where we have 2 days before we fly to Hong Kong and start thinking about home.
Pretty dull blog but time s running out and will be able to see you ll pretty soon!!!!!
Still missing you all but wish you could come here rathe than me coming back :)
Em xxx
