5.30am, that's what time we had to wake up today! Our train left at 6.30 and then we had to walk to our tour guide. Unfortunately our train was cancelled, but the next one was only 15mins after. No problem, we had plenty of time. Found the place easily and checked in. We were in bus no.2 and our guides name was Tracy. Very energetic person!
There wasn't much to see the first hour or so, most people were snoozing in the mini bus. Our first stop was the famous bells beach, a stretch of beach and sea used once a year for one of the biggest surf competitions in the world. There were a few surfers out there today, looked very cold!
Next stop was the Great Ocean Road sign, it's made of wood so over the years it's been replaced something like 4 times. We checked out a few beaches before heading to a stretch of countryside with lots of wild koalas! They were so cute!!
Next stop was for dinner next to the otowa lighthouse. Sausages, salad and potato salad. Then we went up in the light house, at the top you can walk around on the outside and it was really really windy. Nearly blew away!
The 12 apostles were pretty cool. Parts of cliffs that had eroded into small but tall islands. Apparently they have nothing to do with religion and there are more than 12. The reason for the name is that it attracts more tourists.
Our final stop for the day was a place that has taken many lives and is known as shipwreak coast. It's called Loch Ard Gorge, the nature there was really nice.
