Wow you forget how good a shower feels, even though I've only been without one for two days. So I survived my night in the jungle! Now I know how the celebrities feel on I'm a celebrity get me out of here. The night ended well with us all sat around a campfire playing a drinking game (I was a good girl and stuck to the water - mainly because the only options were beer and wine and I don't drink either haha), and if you lost you had to drink or have charcoal drawn on your face (I ended up losing 3 times, not as bad as some people). It was a good laugh though :)
Slept okay although kept waking up during the night because of all the jungle noises.
In the morning I found another one of my bites had ballooned up (I think it's going to happen to all of them eventually so need to get myself a sterile needle pack - looks like I needed one after all mum :P) so I had to get it popped and had something poured on it to stop any infection which stung like crazy. My tour guide also said if it got any worse I would have to see a doctor :/ so fingers crossed I'll be okay :)
After breakfast (toast and scrambled egg) we set off for the rest of our trek. I did it this time! Although it was only 40 minutes and mainly flat ground or downhill haha :P we then got into a truck and went to a river where they do bamboo rafting. It was nice and relaxing just sitting on the bamboo raft, catching some rays and checking out the wildlife, whilst the Thai man paddled the raft along. After that we had lunch and then got in another truck to the hotel we're now going to be staying in for 3 nights. We were reunited with our backpacks and told we could just relax and rest until we meet up tonight to go out for a meal. Whilst I was getting the wifi code (priorities) I bumped into an English guy who also happened to be from Milton Keynes (small world right?!) and chatted to him for a couple of minutes - don't worry mum he's 27 and not my type at all haha :P and now I've just got out the shower and getting ready for tonight, let's see what else is in store! Mum Well I guess a 27year old MK man might be a better option than a 'ladyboy'!?! ;-P
Dad Glad you managed to enjoy and survive your night in the jungle! Must have been quite an experience with all those different noises around you. I'm sure you managed to add to the nocturnal noises with some of your own!! ;-) xx
