Well getting here was harder than expected. We booked a 'sleeper' bus which should've taken 10 hours to get from Vientiane to Pakse (where we stayed one night before heading onward to here) However after just one hour travelling we hit something in the road resulting in the bus almost falling over and crashing and a big popped tyre. It took 3 hours to fix- as they didn't carry torches or many tools. Then we headed off again, not long after they decided the bus wouldn't last and that we all needed to change onto another bus; which took another 2 hours. By this time we we're delayed just over 5 hours. We we're supposed to get to Pakse at 6am but didn't arrive until just after 11.30, and by then the bus was boiling and the sun was beaming in on the windows nearly cooking me and Jordan! We we're glad to get off but the realised we had to find a guesthouse in this massive city! I stayed with the bags as I had not eaten in 24hours and probally would've fainted in the heat while Jordan went and found a nice one. Eventually we got checked into the room and went for a wonder around and found some food (atlast) We then booked a bus and boat to bring us to the islands the next day. And now finally we are here. The bungalows here are cheap to stay in around £1.50 a night but non are overly nice and where we are staying tonight is not great, although it has a hammock! It is very stormy and the lighting is quite scary, think it's time to get some more food and rest before we move rooms tommorow!
