Evening All

Well I have now left Peru behind and have arrived in La Paz, Bolivia.

The last couple of days in Peru were good fun including the overnight stay on Lake Titicaca where we spent the night in the homes of local families. Relieved to report no guinea pigs here, these families who live on Amantani Island are sensible vegetarians!! On route we visited the floating islands of the Uros people who build floating islands out of reeds. It was rather squelchy underfoot so I am glad I don't have to call it home.

At the Homestay, the locals took great joy in dressing us in local costume which consists of brightly coloured skirts and embroidered shawls. The fact that the ladies are about 4ft resulted in a rather hilarious attempt by the host mother to dress me in her clothes but we worked through it!!!! After that we were made to dance around with the locals which I am sure looked equally ridiculous but all in good spirit.

Off to the salt flats of Uyuni tomorrow!!!
