We had a super early start this morning having to get our train at 6:30am to get to Florence! It worked out well because we got a full day to explore! When we got to Florence we walked to our hostel and put our things down before having a look around! It was amazing because it was only 300m away as opposed to the 2km we have been experiencing! We were all so tired I think we could have easily slept the day away! Florence is small so within a couple of hours you can see the whole town! The architecture is amazing - the churches, buildings and piazza's are all really pretty. Medieval architecture originated in Florence, so you can only imagine what some of the buildings look like! There are lots of markets everywhere in the streets, we allowed ourselves to wander and get lost in the alley ways! Florence is the perfect place to unwind and relax! It's so peaceful! We stopped in to a little cafe off an alley way where we had lunch and in my case dinner as well because I was still not hungry by dinner! I had a pizza - it was yummy! I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually looking forward to a meal that is not Italian! I had very high expectations of cuisine in Italy but in actual fact I've had much better Italian in Australia! I'm still waiting to find a meal that is amazing! The pizza is yummy because it's not oily and has a light base so you can almost eat the whole thing! After lunch we strolled back to our hostel. I was exhausted because I'm so tired and I started to get the sniffles :( I quickly bought medicine though and had a siesta - just preparing for Spain ha ha :) When I woke up I felt amazing! We relaxed all afternoon! Later on in the evening Kate, Henry and Erin went out for Mexican, but Simon and I still weren't hungry after lunch so we stayed behind and got an early night. I needed to catch up on some much needed sleep :)
