We got another sleeper bus to Saigon, when we arrived a women found us off the coach and took us to her hostel which was pretty nice it was clean anyway!!
On the 1st day we went to the war museum, we only stayed for about an hour as Luke wasnt feeling well so we left and went to the hostel to get some sleep. On the night we went out again and bumped into a mad women that we met in Nha trang she asked us if we wanted to go for a beer so instead of being rude and say no which we would of prefered we went with her for a beer (just 1) as she is actually a nutter!! After that we got away and went for a pizza hut!! yes they have pizza hut in Vietnam and it was amazing. We saw greig, kieth and ellie walk past so they came in and we went down pub street and sat on the road drinking 50p beers and i was drinking 50p rum and cokes, its a backpackers place to go so theres always loads of people there all having a laugh getting pissed. Kieth and me and Luke had a picture drawn by a random artist on the street which is a great drawing of Luke but im not so sure about myself!!
The next day we had booked to go to the chu chi tunnels where the vietmanese had dug 20km tunnels underground to hide from the americans and those holes where tiny!!! and 50 cm wide and 60cm high...litterally. They had dug out double the amount for us westerners to go through but most people got out at the first 20 meters as it was so hot and claustrophobic i dont know how they managed to live down there for 6 years!! It was really interesting to learn about the war and how they survived and managed to beat the Americans, we were there for a few hours and on the way back our tour guide gave us a nice vietnamese sing song which was hilerious and slightly embarrasing. We then gave the war museum another shot as Luke was feeling better...the things we saw there were pretty horrific and something you only see in films, it was worse then things you see in films actually because it was real, they dont have a line here like they do in the UK they want to let you know how the war effected people in Vietnam and they do it well. There was a section about 'agent orange' which is the chemical they dropped in bombs on the land its something that still effects people today and was dropped here 30 years ago!! And i think its some of the worst effects in the world some americans were effected and they got massive payouts from the goverment but the people here had nothing and are still fighting for compensation today, and if your disabled here you have no chance in hell of getting anywhere in life so you end up on the street selling stuff to westerners so you also see it in the museum and outside as well.
