Ellen's Mini Adventure!
Well......i left Darwin over a week ago now, but wanted to fill you in on what i got up to there.....including feeding some wild jumping crocs, visiting some beautiful waterfalls and seeing my first HUGE spider!!!
My second night in Darwin i went to a well known beach called Mindel Beach, which is apprently some of the most beautiful settings for an Australian sunset in the country, and boy was it good! Have to say that the Thai sunsets are still to be beaten, but it was a beautiful evening, and the weather in Darwin is ACE!
The following day i went on a one day trip to Litchfield National Park.......which was so much fun! To start the day we went on a boat cruise and saw wild jumping crocodiles........they are beautiful, beautiful animals, so large and graceful, and the cruise gave me the chance to feed them.......i really am getting to grips with lots of different animals on this trip, just call me Steve Irwin!! ha
After the excitement of the croc feeding, we headed off and explored the many areas of the National Park including some beautiful waterfalls, where we had the chance to have a dip......was a little 'chilly', however i was the first in and soon adjusted to the Aussie Winter water temperature..........it was HERE that i saw the BIGGEST spider........blimey o'reilly i freaked out! I was out of that water quicker than i could shout spider, and everyone soon followed as this thing was HUGE!
We carried on the tour with a trip to some huge termite mounds, pretty impressive, and then headed back to Darwin central where i had arranged to meet Jeff, a guy i had travelled Vietnam and Cambodia with..........was great to see him, have a catch up, and some dinner and then home to pack as tomorrow.......ALICE SPRINGS!!!
Darwin is a beautiful town, and if you ever venture to Australia in their winter head here, as the weather is fantastic........now preparing myself for the 'chill' of Alice......bbrrrrrrrrrr!
Hope your all well, love me xxxxx
