Arrived Mary River Roadhouse and explored the southern Kakadu area, in particular Gunlom lookout and plunge pools at the top of a tall waterfall (pools pictured).

Arrived Jabiru (in Kakadu), after a scenic drive from Darwin - scenery is fantastic once near Kakadu on the elevated road. Here for four nights to check out the region and hopefully spot a few big crocs (from a safe distance).

Arrived Darwin (staying in Parap area). Mindil Beach markets well worth a visit with good entertainment, food, etc. - and a decent sunset view as enjoyed by hundreds of photographers!

Arrived Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk National Park). Thousands of flying foxes around, and all took off around 7pm - hoping they don't return at a ridiculous hour and populate the tree over our tent (already copped a couple of bird-related 'souvenirs' in Mataranka). Looking forward to a dawn breakfast cruise on Monday.

Arrived Mataranka for a 2 or 3 night stay at the camping grounds near the local thermal pool - didn't seem as hot as expected at 34 degrees, but very popular. Camp area also has many small kangaroos and a few peacocks to amuse the kids. Photo is of replica homestead used for the movie adaptation of 'We of the Never Never'.
