One thing that I am absolutely loving about being home, as well as the homemade trifle (yum) is the total lack of humidity. For once I can say that the English weather is amazing!
We celebrated our last night in Hanoi with a 14 scoop ice cream chocolate fondue. Yes it really was as good as it sounds. I think we were both still feeling the effects of the malaria tablets, but this treat managed to cheer us up!
It was a long journey home - flight from Hanoi to Hong Kong, flight from Hong Kong to London and finally a bus from London to Devon. It was probably the shortest bus ride of the whole trip but it felt like the longest. It was raining when we stepped off the bus and a tiny bit chilly. We were used to 38 degrees, not 12 degrees! But as I said it was a welcome relief.
This trip has been an incredible experience, and I've done so many things that I never thought I would - skydiving, scubadiving, swimming with dolphins!! I've learnt a lot about myself these past few months - it was definitely the right decision!
