Spent all of yesterday taking the fuel tank out, discovered a leak, but managed to repair it and get it back in again with the help of Sid (our new best friend) who has a workshop with a hoist and lent us a huge hand of help, but onwards and upwards, Tdy we did a 4 hour round trip to Williams to meet "Landy" Andy, a font of knowledge on Land Rovers and quite character with a fondness for these vehicles and home brewing, freely sharing his knowledge with us..a ge...

Yesterday, had two test runs, one to Pinjarra and the other to Safety Bay to see Alf to advise him we wud now be ready to leave on Tues, becos we hve to wait till pm Mon for new tyres (long story), this morning discovered diesel leaking from main tank, hve dropped tank down and found several small leaks, sealed with some metal sealant, tank back in plumbing all fixed,cars started and ready to go,,again Will do another test run tmrrw agw, will then put roof rack ...

Sorry abt the side view of the photo, but it's Geoff and I speeding down the highway at 100 kph test driving the Landy' it's running really well. Tmmrw will be hvng tracking and wheel balancing done as well as making sure our fridge is in full working order, we hve a new tent to try, still hope getaway Sunday.....Monday at latest....luv to all

Have had a couple of good days , lots of things have been completed, installed extra fuel tank with a secondary pump, electrics we hve added water temp gauge with hi temp control and water loss alarm, a set of new tyres ordered for tmrrw, with luck we will be off on Sunday. Alf's champing at the bit to be off, he's already bought his food ...

This is easier to set up than the landrover, Geoff's working on the car right now, we have it up and running, needs only relatively minor things to complete, the bonnet to fit, a change of oil, a roof rack to fit and a side tent to fit, spot lights and a plug for the fridge. On the optimistic side we now have a engine running and sounding really good, the lights all work and our suspension rebuild feels really smooth, we are getting there and will soon be off......
