The Kardung La is the pass that separates Leh from the Nubra valley. It is also the highest motorable pass in the world and quite an attraction for motorcyclists. On our last day in Leh we took a van to Phyang, a monastery (and a village) in a valley nearby. The monastery stands high looking over a very green valley surrounded by the usual dusty 5000m high rocks. Those monks chose a pretty amazing location for their stuff. Hey people! We just spent a few days in Leh where any kind of communication is sort of challenging at the moment. Hopefully in a few days we will be able to wrtie more about this amazing place. We are coping well with the altitude besides feeling not that fit any time we walk uphill. We Are finally in Leh! The capital of Ladakh and end of the dreaded Manali-Leh highway, which we originally set out to do on a royal enfienld.
