After a snowy start at Heathrow and an impromptu breakfast with Jemimah in Abu Dhabi we are finally in Chiang Mai after flying in from Bangkok.

Were delayed by quite a bit, and therefore missed our connecting flight to Bangkok from Abu. Good news however! We were driven to a 5* hotel, which is most probably going to be the nicest place we'll stay in! The breakfast was immense!! And it was nice to see Mimes who joined us and stole some tea!

We both love Etihad Airways, 3 course meal and massive measures of gin. V. comfy seats and cool personal entertainment systems! Can't really complain!

So, arrived in Bangkok last night, but didn't see much of the city because of the snow induced delays. Taxi ride was fun. Lots of near death experiences for us and others. Weird taxi driver who kept clicking his toes and who I sense ripped us off. Had a bit of a wander upon arrival at our hostel and it was very busy if a little smelly. Didn't sample any of the local food, apart from a packet of wierd seaweed stuff, which I thought was odd, but Ed seemed to like it. Our hostel (Asha Guesthouse) was ok, very hot but thankfully there was a fan, blowing hot air around the room..which helped.

Waiting to check in now (Parami), so not sure what our room is going to be like..thinking of doing a cooking class tomorrow and maybe go to the night market this evening..
