We arrived at the Chaaya Blu hotel just outside Trincomalee yesterday afternoon, in time for a "sea bath". The water is really warm, gentle waves and soft sand. Trinco is on the north east coast of Sri Lanka and has a different seasonal pattern to the west coast. When we were over on west coast and Colombo, the waves were huge and too dangerous to swim, here it's ideal. We had an amazing crab curry at the restaurant on the beach. Fantastic big half crab pieces in a dark spicy sauce. Trincomalee is well known for it's fishermen, so this is the town to have crab.
Going to Pigeon Island for snorkelling on the coral reef later today.
