Danville is an important Buddhist site, consisting of five cave grottoes containing lots of statues and murals on the cave wall and roof. The site is a long overhanging cliff, the front now enclosed with the white walls. It's a short climb up the hill to the temple, but hot in the middle of the day, the strength of Sun is very apparent when you remove your shoes at the entrance. The dark rock gets very hot, but well worth the climb. The is a lot of monkeys in the trees, one was cooling off with two ice creams snatched from unsuspecting tourists.
The statues are wonderful, including a large reclining Buddha. Onward to Cinnamon Lodge Habarana and the pool.
