hello it has been a while. sorry about the wait but i can assure you it has been well worth it..well, for us anyway! we thought it would be the perfect time to update as we are on the verge of leaving asia, but more so because we have just returned from long bar at raffles hotel where we soaked up a singapore sling. anyway enough gloating, onto what we have been doing for the last few weeks.

i believe i pick up from leaving vietnam and heading to koh phangan for the infamous full moon party. we arrived the night before and housed ourselves in the most secluded of places, mai pen rai bungalows on than sadet beach. it was a wonderful wooden hut upon the rocks bordering the bay and provided a stunning backdrop for out lazy days. the night however was a different matter. we would up and leave the picturesque beach for the thumping hat rin. there was pre full moon, neon paint, full moon, neon paint, flaming skipping ropes, neon paint, flaming limbo, neon paint and buckets a plenty. apocalypse now....without the war.

the day following full moon me and ed hired mopeds to explore the islands clearly not fazed by the high collateral charges. maybe we should have been. i was left wounded in the pocket, as well as the toe, after a "high speed" incident.

the next day we left for ko tao; it was time to dive. me and ed threw ourselves into the PADI open water divers qualification while adam took a taster session. it was a great few days staying at big blue diving resort. adam had great time on his 2 dives tho the second was slightly hampered by a goggle full of water and me and ed somehow passed (more me than ed) and became open water divers to a depth of 18metres. the icing on the cake for me and ed came on out 4th official dive (out of 5) where we encountered the awesome whale shark! it was free for all among the onlooking divers as the whale shark was chased aound its ocean seemingly without a care in the world. celebrations were due that night and we took to the beach bars where a fantastic night was had by all in the shadows a of the flame throwers.

having left ko tao we moved onto krabbi and railay beaches of which one was dubbed "the best beach in the world" by friendly local upon arrival. though i quite lovely place, the siad bech didn't quite live upto the billing and we spent more time on the equally pleasant west side beach. we were fed and watered at the superbly cheap last bar before being mroe than rady to head onto koh phi phi.

koh phi phi was a lot of fun. beach by day, bars by night and a 7/11 that was missing from railay. the bars were spectacular especially raggae bar. the focus was upon the thai boxing ring in the centre of the complex, where amateurs (usually drunk) were padded up and thrown into full blown thai warfare. the fighters spilt blood and guts in order receive their free bucket and the knock outs were plentiful. needless to say we were never entering that ring! while on koh phi phi we also made a visit to "the beach" before watching "the beach" in a bar. a trip to koh phi phi isn't complete without these sequence of events. after a super few days we grudgingly made a move for kuala lumpur or kl as it like to be known.

the petronas towers are kl. the fourth and fifth largest tower in the world and the largest twin towers. spectacular by night, dominant by day. the were and awesome sight and the backdrop for many a photo. we visited the skywalk on the 41st, a freebie curtosy of kl. we also saw kl by night from the communications tower, also the 4th largest in the world of its kind. the towers were interwoven by daily trips to the markets to spend our hard earned ringgit on "real" designer goods.

now we reside in singapore; the worlds biggest shopping centre. there seems little else to do though the zoo tomorrow might change our thoughts before we board our flight to another continent and the land of oz!
