We were all down for breakfast at 9am, sitting in the elevated centre part of the restaurant as there were no tables big enough around the edge to accommodate us. Edd's folks and I ordered a pancake breakfast, while Edd ordered his usual 2 eggs any style with bacon - giving me one of his pieces of bacon. My hero.
He and I decided it would be a good idea to do some research into the last week and a bit of our trip, after his parents have left. His folks in turn decided to go into the little town and check it out, catching the 1.15pm shuttle back to our hotel to join us again for a swim.
Edd and I had a successful morning, we managed to book all our accommodation and all our travel, which had never happened before. I sincerely hoped that the places we'd booked were nice - we usually arrived and checked it out before deciding to stay, past experience proving that 'management photos' and other travellers opinions were not always the most reliable sources.
His folks arrived back and produced a bottle of rose wine for us to drink, the plane had gone over, so to speak. They'd bought 3 bottles from a restaurant in the village as our hotels restaurant did not have the brand we usually drank (a local, Balinese wine with grapes imported from Australia) and everything was hugely expensive. We drank a bottle of it between us on our balcony, then got changed and went to the pool, ordering 2 pizzas to share as we were going to have a large dinner and didn't want to ruin our appetites.
I then got the laptop out, sorted the photos and then decided to get clever - I wanted to download an app, that would type what I spoke, speeding up the blogging process. The dictaphone program I found did not convert speech to text, so I googled it and found that Mac's already had a program built in (naturally) that did it for you, in which ever program you had open. Brilliant. I then sat and spoke a blog, which took a fraction of then time and was quite pleased with myself; should have thought of this months ago!
We went back to our rooms to get ready for dinner again and then joined Edd's folks on their balcony for another bottle of rose. If not, why not. We then went down to the restaurant at 7.30pm for our Bebek Batutu - a traditional Balinese duck dish. We had 1 duck to share between 2 people (apparently, it wasn't a very fat duck if that was the case) with white rice and peas in mint. The food was again, delicious, and we ate as much as we could - too much food again; Edd and I were quickly putting back on the enormous amount of weight that we'd lost.
We went to bed soon after dinner again, no excuses for an action packed day this time, just tired and lazy and in need of sleep.
