We went on a tour of Heinz Stadium, the home of the Steelers. We were so excited! There were so many people in the group that they split us into several smaller groups. It was a great tour! It lasted an hour and a half.
They started out by telling us that all the licenses for tickets were given out in 1975. So the only way you can get a ticket to a game there is on the secondary market from season pass holders selling their seats. They do however sell tickets to their standing room only area.
We started out in the Champions Clubhouse. Then we went to the press room and the press box. Next we went to one of the suites. It cost about $130,000 a yr! It was pretty sweet.
We then went downstairs to the locker rooms. We saw the Steelers, the visitors and the Pittsburgh Panthers locker rooms. D got his picture next to Antonio Browns locker!
We walked out to the field. It is a grass field. I did not know that. The field had just been sodded so the goal posts and field paint were not out. I took a picture of a lawn mower mowing the field.
We ended the tour in the main entrance area of the stadium where they had replicas of all 6 super bowl trophies and other Steeler memorabilia. Then we headed to the fan shop and stocked up on gear! All in all it was a great tour!
