The beginning of our Road Trip in the 5 berth, hi top, Toyota beast we like to call 'Marchel Dantelle'.

We (Martyn and I and a couple called Dan and Chantelle who we met in Bondi) leave the collection point at midday to start our trip.After deciding that who needs a map when you have a sat nav we hit the road with a vague notion of going North and seeing where we end up.

Following the Coastal Highway we stop at Palm Beach where Home and Away is filmed before heading up to Copacabana Beach.Arriving at a campsite in the evening we are told it's full, as are the rest in the area.So we find a free car park on the beach front and park up.Unfortunately the toilets were not open late so we went without some luxuries, but with a perfectly good carpark to use as your dining room we whipped up a tasty tea of pasta and tomato sauce.We added some sausages as a treat! Out of all the places we have been I have had my best day at Cocacobana!

Martyn went for a swim the next day.As he frolicked in the water I saw.....a fin! I charged into the water and pointed to the horizon, suddenly one fin turned into 10 fins.... then we saw the fins were attached to..... dolphins!A big ol' bunch of 'em!It was amazing! They came pretty close!

Dan got up close and personal with a jellyfish - the jellyfish won.

There was a huge lagoon on the beach - absolutely stunning, full of white macaws and swampy water with lizards.Right on the beach! So surreal and beautiful!

I went for my obligatory run on the beach.I know, 2 runs in 2 months, I am a mean machine! I ran to the end and scrambled around on the rocks for a while whilst the waves pounded them and soaked me.Amazing way to cool off!

We stayed another night in the car park before heading further East to Hunter Valley - Wine Region!
