Due to our East Coast plans being ruined we decided to go back down south and drop Dan and Chantelle off in Melbourne. With heavy hearts we turned around, gutted that we had come so close to doing what we had spent ages planning and saving for.We stopped at Jervis Bay National Park to look at Cave Beach (aptly named) and saw kangaroos hopping around.Me and Martyn didn't really enjoy it much as we were pretty down still.Even a KFC bargain bucket only lifted our spirits slightly.
We drove to another rest area off the highway and parked up for the night. It was really spooky as it was in the woods and it was dark when we got there and none of us have torches. And we met a creepy man called Ted who wanted to join in with us.
Melbourne was about 700km from Narooma and the van was eating up the petrol.Having already been to Melbourne and further along the south of the coast from doing the Great Ocean Road Drive me and Martyn decided we would try our luck and turn around and head back up the East Coast and hope that the roads would open in time for us.We dropped Chantelle and Dan at the bus depo for them to coach it back to Melbourne (they were ok with the plan as it worked out quicker and cheaper for them to get the coach) and headed out the next day to Shell Harbour.
