dzasta travels
Ive done a quick lap of the place and Im glad to be here. The place is amazing. Ive got a nice hotel and got the best price for the penthouse. Of course it is on the top floor so I have to got up 4 floors of steps and I have to bend over to get in the door but at $16 it is a bargain, I made them include the internet and breakfast by the pool.
The town is postcard stuff and I will see more tomorrow. I think there will be lots of pics. Bonus there is an old lady around the corner cooking 'meat on a stick'. OMG I think I died and went to heaven.
Ive just been out for dinner. An old mama down on the waterfront cooked me the best dinner. Dont know what it was but it had noodles, green stuff and the best pork crackle. MMMM Her husband gave me a beer and they charged me LESS than $2. I love this place. I was walkin around and a lady was selling some ginger. I bought some the other day down in the delta and I love it. I bartered hard and bought some. I will get some more before I leave. ALL the places along the waterfront (didnt put restaurants cos I cant spell it) are selling beer for 20cents a glass. Here are some pics of the place at night.
So my second day here I did a huge walk around the town. There are a few buildings you can go into if you get a ticket. They sell the tickets all over town and for 50 cents you get to go into any 5 of the dozen or so that you want. Just walking around looking at the street scapes is good. The first place I went wanted a ticket so I had to go buy one. They did a guided tour then put on the big sell for trinkets for sale. Thankfully they were the only one, everywhere else you could just look around. Some places I did the usual and snuck in on the back of a tour group so I got to go into as many as I wanted and I still have 1 ticket left. Some of the buildings started to look same same so I skipped a few so I hope I get the right name on the pics. I think some of the names wont fit in the caption.
I have been looking for shoes with no luck. When I go into a shoe shop and point to my shoes and ask "do you have shoes like these?" meaning 'runners' they all say "we can make them..exact copy". I dont want same I want similar so I will have to keep looking. I did however manage to find a couple of absolute fashion statement T shirts for the bargain price of $2 each.
My camera battery went flat so I came back to the hotel to charge it and watched the footie on TV. They play more footie on TV here that we get at home. I watched one of my teams (the Bulldogs) smash gold coast.
I have booked a motrobike for the trip back to Da Nang tomorrow and will go straight to the train station and go to Hue, so I should be there tomorrow night.
I have justloaded the pics and I'm sure some of the captions are wrong but I cant remember which is which. too bad. That is the places I went and the pics you can match them up.
Im of to have a couple of those 20 cent beers and let mamason make dinner for me again.
