dzasta travels
this morning I decided I was going to check out the town. A couple were trying to decide to go trekking and asked me if I was trekking. I said "No I can afford the bus fare", jeez yesterday I paid $1.50 and it would take me 3 days to walk that far. It was ******* down as usual and I left to check out town and I think they did go trekking. Later in the day the rain went and the sun came out and it was really hot and steamy, glad I didn't go trekking.
Down near the river are some old warehouses that are now used as sweatshops. There were young girls sorting and packing nutmeg in one and tea in another. I love all the old architecture here. The local market can only be described as "rustic" It really was a bit of a **** hole. North of town is little Bagan and there are monasteries everywhere. I have stopped taking photo's of them. I was back at 10.30 and had a nana nap.
This arvo I headed in the other direction and came across the Mahamyatmuni Paya. It is the biggest here and has pulsating lights behind it. freaky.
I walked past the train station to buy a ticket for tomorrow but everyone was asleep. I will have to buy the ticket tomorrow before I get the train. It should be no problem I'm going fun class again so there is no seat allocation just get in around the produce and animals.
Yesterdays blog had a pic that I will name. I read about it today and it is the usual love story Shan Kings 7 wife, his favorite, got sick so he sent her home and she died so they built a pagoda there. Bawgyo Paya.
This afternoon they are saying the train line is blocked. There was a landslide this morning and the train line and road are both blocked. I hope they clear it up by tomorrow or I will have to take the bus. I know the road is blocked as well but the bus will go to the blockage and people will walk around.
