Picked up our tailoring before our coach ride to Hue, the old political capital of Vietnam. We had another motorbike tour in the afternoon to a pagoda (temple) and some ruins of an ancient colloseum, where royalty were the only ones allowed to watch an elephant fight a tiger which had had its teeth and claws cut out, so the elephant, the symbol of their royalty would win. We also saw a woman who made the rice pickers hats, despite the fact she had been born missing one arm below the elbow, an incredible woman doing so well for herself in a country where those born handicapped are at such a disadvantage. After a good afternoon, we had dinner at seven at the Mandarin Cafe, the cafe of a local famous photographer with his photos ont he walls around the place. We ordered food for the next day, as our night train left at two in the afternoon and lasted 14 hours.Everyone walked back and had an early night.
