Year-long Retirement Odyssey
We boarded the Northumberland ferry from Wood Island, PEI to Caribou, Nova Scotia. We were told to arrive between one and a half to two hours prior to the sailing to ensure that we got a spot on the ferry. All 18 wheel big rigs are taken first, then the trailer/campers are first come, first serve. So, we arrived at the terminal early and sat in line. Boring..... However, when the ferry pulled up, there were only two semis and three or four travel trailers in line, so we were allowed to board.
Our last sight was the lighthouse at Wood Island. The crossing took an hour and a half.
We arrived to a welcome to Nova Scotia and notice that we were driving on the Jubilee Highway! On the Jubilee Highway, we drove through Bible Hill, NS. As the sky looked threatening, we decided to drive straight to our campground to drop off the trailer. After getting camp set up, we had to do some shopping. As usual, we returned to the trailer after dark and had to fix dinner, then to bed with us! The next day, we were going to explore Nova Scotia.
