Year-long Retirement Odyssey
After the long first day drive, I was surprised that I woke up so early. We had plans to meet with our dear friend, Helen Antrim and her daughter, Diane, at Marie Callender's for breakfast. It was so good to see Helen again! Sharon and I attended church with Helen and her late husband, Herb, for many years. After Herb passed away, we invited Helen to join us on a Mediterranean cruise. It was so fun having her along!
After a sad farewell, we set out for our destination of the second day of Roseville, CA. Traffic in the East Bay area was very bad and what should have been a two and a half hour trip turned into more like 4 hours. We were greeted by Sharon's sister and brother-in-law, Melanie and Craig. The trailer was parked in front of their house and we were able to spend the night comfortably in our own bed.
