Howdy y'all
Have spent a few days in and around Tornoto with Sue and John before heading back to the UK for a night (and one final curry before the road trip and New Zealand).
We started this little leg of the tour with a wander around Toronto Island, where there isn't much to do except chase black squirrels and be told by your sister you're not allowed to go look at the nudist beach.
We then looked for some good old North American culture by going to a Blue Jays Baseball game. After 3 plus hours they lost 6-4 to Oakland. And there was no atmosphere to speak of. 33,000 Canadians chating away and occasionally clapping. I'll stick to footy thank you very much.
We also spend a day on the road to Niagara Falls and back (via Grimsby). Nice place but a bit of a let down, it's not that big. But I did get to photo some Amish people (probably stealing their souls at the same time. Or is that the Jews?).
Finally we spent a day in another zoo, this time Toronoto Zoo (in Scarborough), which although large and had elephants, wasn't as good as Lincoln Park (it cost 20 dollars to get in for a start). Although on the way home we did get to pass the "Jerk King" restaurant.... Not the special sauce for me thanks....
My special food of the town was Salmon Jerky, purchased from the CN Tower (I bottled walking on the glass floors). Not bad, bit fishy unsuprisingly.
So, back to Blighty in a few hours for about a day before the USA road trip with MJ.
Hope dad remembers to pick us up from the airport....
