I never want to drive in San Francisco again. The road signs are so bad. Even with the bay bridge open it took us ages to get back on route 1 and start driving, this time not even too badly hungover!
Stopped at Big Sur for lunch in the sun, and then, youve guessed it, more mist, trees and so on. Which led to us playing games as diverse at "how many arnie films can you name" to "how many tom hanks films can you name". Rivetting.
We pulled up at Pismo beach for the night, where after more fish and chips (and free clam chowder, awesome), I finally got one over MJ by beating him 10-9 at pool.
1 raccoon and 1 skunk on this leg.
The next day started all well and good having a little meander on the beach, and a spot of laundry. A few hours on the road, I give up telling about the scenery here, and we parked up in Santa Barbara, where after a few false starts we managed to find a motel to bed down in.
Off we went to watch a bit of American Football and drink happy hour beer followed by a few of our favourite coctails, and no suprise we met our next freak. Also called Matt. Ive decided not to speak to any Americans called Matt anymore, they give us a bad name. He decided to give us a drive in his car back to his to carry on drinking and watch a film. Among his quotes I remember are "I'm a friendly guy" and "Would it make you more comfortable if I got out my guns". Horrendous stuff, I was actually quite gald to spark out and get a cabride home.
