Hello all, We arrived in La Paz, Bolivia a couple days ago. La Paz is the highest capital city in the world at 3660m with polulation of 1.5 million. La Paz is the wonderful blend of modern skyscrapers and basic traditional homes made with clay brick. The city is growing rapidly up into the mountains that surround it. Many people, particulary old women, wear tradional clothing including bowlers' hat which don't look like they should stay on their heads. We just went mountain biking down what is considered the most dangerous road in the world due to the death toll of 27 people per year. We rode 75km down hill and decended 3500m (10,000 feet elevation change!). There are no picture from Bolivia to upload yet, so we chose this picture of sandboarding which we hope to do in Peru.
