Greetings from Melbourne where we arrived on Thursday. The trip from Sydney on the Hume freeway is quite amazing if you want to go to any towns you have to turn off the freeway and usually travel a few kms. When you are driving along all of a sudden you see the Golden Arches of McDonalds on each side of the road and there are big service centres which sell petrol and lots of different types of food. The road mostly consists of two lanes going each way with a big gap in between and long straights so it feels very safe you do however see quite a few crosses on the side of the road. Our trip from the outskirts of Melbourne to Mornington where we are staying was a bit of an adventure when once again the GPS let us down and once we had turned right when it told us to and then said recalculating we ended up back on the motorway going in the the wrong direction and then it took us through the suburbs for about half an hour til we ended up back on a freeway. I was starting to feel a bit poorly about this time and have ended up with a cold and spent half a day in bed.
Well today was the big day of the birthday party with about 24 adults and children and the birthday girl behaved perfectly as she usually does. She is such a happy child always smiling and likes a bit of rough & tumble and sticks up for herself. After the party she slept on me for nearly two hours then woke up smiling and has been happy since.
William keeps Chris on his toes always asking him what do WE want to do now!!!
The weather is terrible and not expected to improve for a bit yet so it is good we have inside living for this time Sounds like the weather back home is much better than here. We hope to go to a local market in the morning but that is weather dependant.
