Today we headed for Cadel, the place not the bike rider... It was a short drive today so only a couple of hours down the road.
The first exciting thing to happen was being stopped at the fruit fly checking station. Similar to boarder security, but far more serious..,Bev ( not her real name) made us get out so she could search our van. I explained that we had been advised if we cut up our fruit and keep it in a container we would be fine. Bev was not pleased with this and promptly made me throw out my fruit...plus the couple of full pieces that had escaped to the back of the fridge. Thankfully Bev let us off without a fine, but gave us some stern words and some reading material...phew a close call.
We then arrived at Cadel, another great spot on the river, and also free...the kids had a great time swimming in the river, while luke fished and I read...another day in paradise.
