Today is an easy travel day so its a leisurely start. A few of us head to a little coffee shop for breakfast which has good food and equally good coffee. Our destination is El Tunco, about a 3 hour drive away. It is basically a surf town and a popular stopping place for backpackers. A few of us had planned to have a surf lesson but are advised that the conditions are not good, and when we get there we realise they are not joking. After lunch in a restaurant overlooking the beach we head back to our hotel for a very laid back afternoon. It has a pool (which feels more like a bath) and a pool table and some outdoor lounge areas, so we spend time just catching up on diaries and blogs and so forth. There is a cave somewhere along the beach so we head off to find it, but are told that the high tide wont allow us to get near it. So instead we stop at a bar on the beach called Monkey Lala for some drinks and to watch the sunset. On our way back to the hotel we come across another bar which has a Ladies Night (free vodka for ladies!) so spend a couple of hours in there. Its probably the first time we have all let our hair down as a group. The weather is quite warm, 35 degrees or so, and very humid, even though we are on the coast. We are certainly keen to have a swim and hoping that our destination tomorrow, El Cuco, will enable us to do that.
