(10 December)
Saw Sabrina and Vanessa at breakfast this morning and we decided to chill out for a bit then have a wander to the other side of the island because the weather wasn't amazing. The Germans and English guy had moved to somewhere that they thought was cheaper but was actually more expensive...not sure how they managed that! And Brian the Irish guy had left early in the morning. We woke up Kedy, who had slept through breakfast, when we were leaving, and she came with us. Earlier in the morning a cat had climbed in her window and had babies on the floor beside her bed!!!! I would've freaked out haha. Think it was lucky she had a few more drinks than the rest of us the night before and was still a bit drunk when it happened haha!
Sabrina and I booked our boat tickets for the next day to go back to Bali, then we started walking along the beachfront. Just before the end of all the restaurants we realised we should probably have lunch haha, so we went back on ourselves looking for somewhere reasonably priced. Unfortunately in this case cheap meant not very good, and most of our food was pretty disappointing. Funnily enough it was back at Rudy's, the place from the night before! So they couldn't throw a party or cook a meal!
Anyways, after that we just wandered slowly for a bit along the coast! We stopped for a while on a beach to try and get a photo of us all jumping at once... Dreading those going on facebook haha, it turns out I can't jump haha!! But it was really good craic. We passed some bits that looked like they used to have things there if you know what I mean, but we didn't really get it - wondering of the tsunami hit there? Possibly... Some of the beaches were lovely and after a few hours we came to a resort type place with a happy hour on cocktails and a pool with wifi and a view of the sunset...we wisely decided to stop! It was awesome, rained a little bit but that was fine in the pool like!
We moved on a little bit before the actual sunset because we were literally on the other side of the island and didn't wanna walk home in the dark, but stopped briefly to watch it a bit further up - it was actually gorgeous!! Awesome with the mountains and all, I was gutted I hadn't brought my camera with me! Literally just realises i could've just put their photos on my memory card... Oh well, done now! Hopefully they will email/fb some. We ended up cutting through the forest which was pretty creepy as it got dark really quickly but was a lot quicker, and we survived! Haha.
We went back and got changed then went for food, which wasn't hugely special. I changed my boat ticket to a day later because i figured I'd rather stay longer in Gili than go back to Kuta, which wasn't that nice and where i had nowhere to stay!
Then just an early night, none of us were really feeling it after the night before! Think Gili is beautiful to chill but not my kind of nightlife!
