We have arrived in the Las Perlas Islands on the Island of Contadora, but not without an adventure, and it is only day two ! We had a 'problemo' with our flight this morning, the flight times were changed, we were not informed and we missed the early morning flight. So our hotel in Panama city was kind enough to help us out and we ended up hiring a charter plane to get us to the island. It was merely large enough for the two of us and the pilot. Yes, Donnie got to be co-pilot. It was both scary and cool to fly in such a small plane over the skyscrapers of Panama and out to sea. Contadora Island is lovely, the temperature is hot, sun is shining and waves are crashing outside our door.
We have met up with Vanda and Jim at Villa Romantica and enjoyed a lovely day of exploring the island on a Kawasaki mule, relaxing on the beach and finished off with 'fish of the day' at a local restaurant.
Tomorrow we head out bright and early on an all day sailing trip around the Pearl Islands.
