Leaving Harghada behind we set off for Cairo. We checked into the Pharoahs hotel and a few of us went to the Sound and Light show at Giza. It was amazing, what a way to finish the trip. There was music, lights and dramatic storytelling bringing the Pyramids of Giza to life in this unique memorable evening. The mystical sphinx takes you on a narrated journey through Egypt's history with an inspiring backdrop of the illuminated sphinx and pyramids.

Up early for a guided Tour around Cairo by bus finishing at the Egyptian Museum. The second floor was dedicated to King Tut. I was fascinated. The gold, jewellery and furniture was well preserved. The best known artifact in King Tutankhamun's tomb was the famous Gold Mask, which rested over the bandages that were wrapped around the King's face. The mask weighs in at 11 kg of solid gold, and is believed to represent what the King's face really looked like. I also visited the Mummy Room where there are eleven mummies on display.
Said my farewells and headed for the Cairo Airport and began my journey home........... Taxi driver tried to drop me off outside the airport, had to haggle to get him to take me to the terminals.........
