Back home now and both of us are pretty depressed, but ho hum, life goes on. Don't know why we were apprehensive about some of the cities we visited as we've been in London for about 2 weeks and there's been about half dozen murders already. What a welcome home! Hopefully meet up with friends and family and then its back to work. We've had a fantastic experience and enjoyed every minute. Just updating the site, since the Manaus we have been to Salvador and then here to Rio, having a fantastic time and will update site soon with foto's and postcards. Tomorrow we are off to Paraty, 5 hours west of Rio and will spend some time here before Sao Paulo and home.

We are off to the Jungle on Tues (1st Aug). Will fill in postcard when we get back.

In Mancora, Peru, we booked our coach ticket about 5 days in advance to make sure we could get a direct coach to Quito and not the more usual route through Guayaquil in Ecuador and then getting a connection to Quito. Luckily though, I went back into the office 2 days before to check on our seat allocation and make sure everything was tickety boo and guess what, they had actually cancelled the coach for that day and the next one was 3 days after the original date....

So, still in Cusco and this is where we said our farewells to Delia and Lee who had been great travelling companions, on and off, since Mendoza in Argentina. We had booked our coach journey to Arequipa a few days earlier so imagine our surprise when we got to the coach station only to be told that although our tickets had that days date, the women who booked the ticket on the computor had put the day we bought the tickets as the date we were leaving.
