Day 2 and the trousers came out to play.... And boy did they play.
After a 13 hour sleep I woke to a breakfast of a custard filled bun, and Luke had a sausage filled bun with hot chocolates mmmm
Then we went to sanam luang a huge field which had a baby Buddha celebration going on soooo cute :) then we went to the grand palace, which is no doubt grand, I think I should live in it. It was huge it took ages to walk around, I directed us all the way ;) it was amazing so intrinsic in design.
We saw the emerald Buddha which was fantastic but very small and you can't take pictures of it :( bad times. But we saw it :) memories.
Elephants are definitely sacred to them, there are statues and memorials everywhere, they even made elephant shaped bushes.... Mum can we have some in our garden......??? :)
Then we decided to go for a drink..... Coconut juice in a whole coconut ( here they aren't brown, hard and hairy like home) they're green but none the less very tasty, Luke was on the Thai beer which is 6.5% hardcore.
After this we decided to go for a walk and came upon a lovely street which is where we found the restaurant we went to tonight, gorgeous, serving delicious Thai food, and it even had Thai music and dancers. To finish our night we went to khao San road again for a few alcoholic beverages.
Now khao San is seemingly different on a night, we were asked to attend a ping pong show ever other person which we kindly declined. Then we had a look through some of the stalls because my sunglasses broke today and so we found some lovely 'Chanel' sunglasses which I may have to purchase tomorrow.
Anyhow we found a standard bar and had some drinks Luke on beer and myself strawberry daiquiri, we were even offered cooked scorpions on a stick, now I know that's my starsign and all but that's just intense.
Soooooo we like it here in Bangkok that we have decided to stay until Monday :) amending our plans already.
Luke
