Wednesday 30th After doing a lot of research before leaving the UK, We booked with Wavelength to snorkle the reef, and they did not disappoint! The boat was smaller than the other major companies, which means a lot less crowded, you will feel the waves a bit more. Tuesday 29th What a beauty! 25 minutes by car to Mossman gorge. Operated by the local aboriginal community, we found a visitor centre, shop and cafe. A shuttle bus takes you up to the gorge from the car park and runs every 15 minutes. Cost approx 8 dollars per person for the bus or you can walk to it, we decided to take the bus. Monday 28th Arrived Cairns safe n sound at 8pm, flight took 2 hours, picked up our hire car and set off to Port Douglas just an hour’s drive north from Cairns via a winding coastal road, the Great Barrier Reef Drive, along the edge of the Coral Sea.
