Back in LALA land. We had a complete blast in Del Mar as Michelle has said in the last blog. Also good here; went to Sony Pictures Studio and walked around the 'Lot'. Drinks in Hollywood, Lunch in Malibu & Santa Monica. LA is just like San Diego I think - the downtown areas are not so nice and for a European seem disappointing - you don't wander around and go to a cafe, shop etc. All the good stuff is spread out, so you just have to get into a different mind set and drive from one cool place to another within and around the outskirts of those cities.

I have been sitting in various Starbucks a lot waiting for a Producer to spot my raw, pulsing but untapped talent seeping from every pore, but they don't seem to have noticed. It's a tragedy for film-making in this country.

Tomorrow we leave LA and drive to Salt Lake via the CA coast. Unfortunately we won't be seeing everything including San Fran, Redwoods etc. as we are getting seriously low on funds after 6 months of partying! We need to get to Salt Lake and I need to get a job. Have a few meetings lined up so we will see... Worse case scenario we come back to the UK having had a blast, but I have a feeling we'll make it work here somehow. A lot is also dependent on Michelle's immigration status and what we can do there. One temporary solution is for her to leave the country every 3 months (fly to San Diego, walk over the border to Mexico and then stand in line to come back in). As you can imagine she's really upset that she won't be able to work.....

So we'll leave here and drive up to Big Sur (Henry Miller fan), Carmel, Monterey & Salinas (John Steinbeck fan), then head inland and across the desert to Utah.
