Okay, so we have stopped here on the way to Utah as it's too long to drive in one day from Carmel. So we are in the middle of the Nevada desert in the largest town around. There is a very surreal 'Basque Festival' on - I'm not sure these people really know the Basque country... they have turned it into a country & western dress thing with berets. Oh, and I expect they are sending money to ETA because they're 'freedom fighters'. Bit like the Irish bars in NYC all those years ago.

Sorry, anyway very strange small town vibes and we were pleased to leave, but we did have breakfast in a proper diner before setting off. Michelle wanted the hilarious stack of pancakes which passed us by but we stuck with eggs sunny side up with bacon and wheat toast. I have told M we have to make a pilgrimage to IHOP (International House of Pancakes).

Next stop Salt Lake City....
