Hello hello. We are in Airlie Beach boarding an old tall ship tomorrow to cruise the Whitsunday Islands for three days. Should be loverley jubilee as we have our own air con ensuite cabin (we're backpackers you know). Then on Friday 20th we drive up to Cairns, 'do' the Great Barrier Reef before it disappears completely (they now think twill be gone in 20 years) and on Monday 23rd we fly from Cairns to New Zealand.

In a strange way as I've said I'm looking forward to wearing fleece and getting toasty. I've also found I miss socks and shoes. I could always wear socks with my 'thongs' (strange Oz speak for flip flops, which is obviously a silly word compared to flip flops) but then M might leave me. Wearing socks with what we call thongs would be even more scary and we'll leave it there.
