This morning we moved to the 'cheaper' non-AC room, which was a duplicate of ours, but with a fan only & $12 cheaper. We sat watching the sea whilst having the slowest breakfast possible & then decided that because the weather on the island is quite bad at the moment, that we should stay close by. So the day was spent cutting my hair, reading & speaking to the folks, before heading 100m down the road to a nice restaurant/hotel for dinner, just as the heavens opened. The storms here are phenomenal. The thunder is quite literally deafening & scared the kids at the tables next to us! When the wind started whipping the rain sideways onto the balcony, everyone moved inside before they got completely drenched & their drinks got watered down! This was another place where they serve huge portions, meaning one dinner would've served both of us. But too late.......so we stuffed ourselves yet again. Because of our distinct lack of ability in the local dialect, we've still not mastered the phrase for "is this big enough to feed 2 people" yet! Hence it's big portions for us for a while longer in these sorts of generous eateries. When the rain let up for a few minutes, we made a mad dash back to our room & ended the day there.
