Arrived at 7am to find the hostel we wanted fully booked. So we went to their sister hotel & got a room (straight away) on the 6th floor(!) with cable TV & an ensuite for £17. Luxury at a bargain price. So we put our washing in with them straight away. La Paz is a town built in a vast valley with houses stretching high into the steep hills on either side. A quick stroll to the Plaza De Armes (main square) & back with a 3 course meal each for £1.20 on the way, left us absolutely knackered due to the city's horribly steep slopes. A refreshing & recuperating shower & 2 films later, we headed out (into the now, bloody cold streets) for a Mexican & then a quick beer in 'Olivers Travels' (advertised as 'La Paz's 5th best place' due to it being a fake English pub!) before heading back for an earlyish night.
