Right, we're well aware that we're been pretty slack with the blogs....emailing is a real nuisance as the cafe's internet is rubbish.
Anyhow, After a few nights in Bangkok we flew up to Chaing Mai where we set off on a trek through the Jungle for a few days!
The trek was amazing, won't bore you with how beautiful the place was....the photos should do that....(dmac is trying to upload a load of them now!) but we then also got the chance to stay with our tour guides family. They were all so friendly and the place was incredible. We swam in waterfalls, jumping in off ledges and stuff, was really cool. Also as part of the trek we had a chance to ride elephants which was pretty amazing as well. We'll try and smuggle one home for hannah, but we're already fed up with how heavy our bags are....we'll see if we've got the space!
The best part of the trek was the rafting...unfortuately there are no photos as we got pretty soaked! This rafting experience was suppose to be a sedate affair, gently riding down a river but it ended up being the funniest and most dangerous thing we have done to date! They loaded our raft up far too much so that we were always knee deep in water and as such, we hit every f**king rock in the world, keeping our balance was dam near impossible and you always know when your in trouble when your guide gets thrown in more times than we did!
I was thrown off on more than one occasion hitting a number of rocks on way way down....not very soft rocks either! the bruises were proof of that!
The raft capsised with us falling underneath, all the while its getting closer to some very unforgiving rocks....a tree, and i mean a tree, fell on us while we we fighting for balance, fortunately it missed us all but didnt help with the condition of our raft! by the end of the rafting trip (it took us double the time it should due to all our swimming) we were drenched and all the other people on the trip were bored of waiting.....reckon we enjoyed it more than they did! (By the way, just for our parents benefit, don't read this....dam it, should have written that at the top!)
Anyway having survived the trek with all the waterfalls and stuff we headed back to Chaing mai for one more night before flyingdown to Phuket. caught some more thai boxing where some fat thai got his arsed kicked by someone who look like Dolf Lunghram.
Chaing mai was amazing!
