Viva Las Vegas! I landed in las vegas airport on the tuesday and straight away found that their was slot machines all over the airport. Only in vegas! I managed to get to my hostel for about lunch time, and after checking in and booking my trip to the grand canyon it was early afternoon. After looking at internet to find out where some of the friends i had made while in new zealand was staying, it was time to walk up to see if they were around. Unfortuntly they were out so after leaving a note it was off for some lunch. That evening I managed to meet up with sal, emily & mel for a bit before seeing kath & sarah. We managed to get into the vip area to watch the treasure island show, then on to a few casinos. Wednesday day was seeing the strip or part of it anyway, before meeting up with the guys in the evening. That evening we saw bite a vampire show, rather good too. Then up to studio 54 a nightclub in mgm grand casino, for a few drinks before returning to the strataphere at 5am for a short stint at blackjack.

Thursday day i slept half of it as we did not get back until just before 6 in the morning. The afternoon I went up to the classic welcome to las vegas sign for a few photos and then checked out the casinos up the top end of the strip. A non eventful evening of checking out a few casinos. Friday was up early as i was of to see the hoover dam and the grand canyan. The hoover dam has check points now as of 9/11 that you have to go through. Once through that we drove over the dam to the other side where the coach could park to allow us to take a few photos. With that done it was on to the main attraction of the day. We arrived there about 1pm where we had maps handed out and told that we had about 3 hours to walk a 3 mile trail along the south rim edge. After taking in the stunning view and taking loads of photos, it was time to crack on with the walk. After a well deserved drink at the other end it was back on the coach for the 5 hour drive back to las vegas. We arrived back around 9pm, quick shower and then packed my bags as my airport shuttle was due about 4am for my flight into new york. That left me just enough time for blackjack and a go at roullette before leaving vegas.
