I've been coming to Las Vegas for many years now, never have I ever considered there a theme park here except for all those in the foyer of every hotel, but more about his later. Last night we went to see Criss Angel.
Criss Angel is a magician. His show Believe is entertaining. I had never heard of him before, but as soon as we walked into the hotel and the youngen saw who was performing here we were going. At the box office expecting the show to be booked out, my one and only win in Vegas came in the form of two seats, centre, six rows from front... at half price........ Winner!!!! I'm not sure how much the show was staged with the audience participation, or if it was legit but with his disappearing and reappearing on the other side of the stage within moments, unseen..........
I like rides, roller-coasters I do. I didn't realise Las Vegas had so many. I knew of the one at New York New York. Never felt the inclination to go on it though, didn't look like much. Well it is one of the longest rides we've been on. I'll give it a 4.5
Circus Circus has a full on park, with a great roller-coaster, a water ride, The Inverter that has the blood rushing to your head so you think your head is going to explode with the amount of blood being pumped down to your head, a sling-shot, and lots of arcade stuff.
A few others scattered, and then there is the Stratosphere......... The rides are situated 866ft above the ground. I'm ok with heights. Unfortunately the Big Shot and Insanity were out of action due to the wind velocity that almost picked us up and carried us over the edge of the building. X-Scream was operating and we availed ourselves of it. As I said, I don't mind heights, but......... This ride is a see-saw, elaborate and very expensive see-saw. We were strapped into the open car, gale blowing, floor drops away and you sit there, then the cabin moves forward as the front of the ride dips over the edge of the 866ft drop to the ground below. Keeping in the back of your mind, there are cameras there taking your last photo as you knowingly plummet to your death. But no, you come to a sudden halt at the end of this gang plank and sit there looking at the tiny people you could have crushed in your fall. Ever so slowly we get hauled back to safety, breath a sigh of relief that turns into a piercing scream as the cabin tilts again over the precipise and again just when your life starts to flash before your eyes you stop again, facing the ground from a height of 866ft you breath a sigh of relief and the thing drops again, only a foot but how the hell are you suppose to know that........... Again they retrieve you, but you can't remember if they send you 2 or 3 times over that drop, and you beg them not to do it again, you're sure the wind has taken your pleas back to the b****** that keeps on pushing the button to send you one more time.................
We also had a cultrual event today. We went to the Bodies Exhibition. Dead people filled with acetate, and cut up so we can study us. Could get it out of my head that these were real people, skinned. Showing muscular systems, veins, tendons, intestines, nothing to hide. Bit gross, but educational.
We saw the Titanic exhibition. That was great. 99 years today she went down. over 1500 people died, around 750 survived. She now lies 2.5 miles below the ocean surface, and they are finding things within a mile radius of the ship.
We also attended a CSI exhibition and helped solve a case for Grisham.

Shane David, you are a classic. You write so well, you make me nearly feel I am on holidays with you both. All the people in my office are also getting a good laugh at your commentary, they also look forward to reading your updates.
Shona And also my mum turned 99 on April 14, the day the Titanic hit the iceberg.
