Day 1: So our journey began yesterday with us flying out from Manchester to Bangkok. Flights were all ok, no delays.
As soon as we left the ariport the tremendous heat hit us! And hit dave even more so due to carrying both rucksacks while vicky had an easy life with just hand luggage.
We are staying in the Khaosan Baan Thai, a lovely little guesthouse with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere.
First morning we went for a walk around khaosan road. It was a shock to how many people approached us trying to sell us anything and everything. Dave didnt take to this. After a long journey we decided to retreat back to the guethouse for a nap.
After a power nap, we took a tuk tuk to the MKB Shopping mall. The Tuk Tuk ride was fun but not the safest way of transport! haha.
After an unsuccessful shopping trip we returned by tuk tuk to Khaosan road. At night dave took to the Khaosan a bit more. It was great just to sit in a bar and people watch.
After a couple of drinks we decided to take a walk and head back towards the guesthouse. But on the way Vicky bought Dave a scorpion to eat. Before we bought this there was a Russian guy eating maggots, Vicky tried one of these but could not finish the job of swallowing it. Meanwhile Dave couldnt get enough of the tasty crunchy scorpion.
Day 2: After breakfast we went to the Grand Palace via a boat on the Chaophraya River. Like a cattle wagon we were all squeezed onto the boat.
As we entered the grand palace we noticed how many people there was. It was very busy. The palace was magnificent, gold tiles covered pretty much everything in sight.
After heading back to Khaosan road, we spent the afternoon chilling out in a bar having some dinner and some smoothies.
In the night we headed out for Khaosan road once again but were taking it easy as we were up early for the bus to Koh Chang.
