Everyone we had spoken to mentioned how nice Cardiff was so we decided to book two nights and head there. Our first thought was when getting off the train....ah we are in dodgyville but it turned out to be alright. Our hotel..The Ibis was great, cheap is best and it was better then a hostel.... that is until we realised it was just over the railway from the jail, which explained the few dodgy looking people around. Besides the cold on the first afternoon we arrived the weather otherwise was fantastic and was a welcome change from The Tunnel. Cardiff is a young persons place to be, its night life is pretty good and its also been voted as one of Britans best cities as everyone walks with a bounce in their step giving the impression they are heading somewhere fun. Some of the streets are really pretty with narrow little lanes and lots of flowers in hanging pots. We did a tour of Cardiff Castle which was just amazing inside and mind boggling at how much money was spent on it. It was a bit like Hurst Castle in America, incorporating pieces and ideas from history into the home with no money spared but more beautiful. After taking a tour of the castle and having some lunch we lapped up as much of the sun as we could and caught yet again another bus tour (they are the best) getting off at the bay. Enjoying the sun and the sights I dragged Dylan along for a ride on a carasel which was great fun, we then stopped for a coke before jumping back on the bus to head back into town for some Mexican. The following day we decided to finish our stay with a tour of Millenium Stadium, home of the Welsh rugby team which was good but we both thought it would be better. Seen one stadium, you've seen them all.
